Susan and Don -- May 5, 2012

Designing the flowers for Susan and Don was so much fun!
She came with ideas of birdcages and whimsey and together
we created a lovely, organic and creative wedding!
The bride chose peony, hydrangea, ranunculus and
freesia to create a lovely bouquet.
We painted the pedestals to match the birdcages and then added
           the brides favorite flowers...
hydrangea, yellow gerbera and draping amaranthis.

Susan's choice of blue hydrangeas, globe amaranthis, pink peony, and draping green amaranthis really popped of the rich teal dresses.

The groom wore a boutonnierre of white ranunculus and the groomsmen complimented the girls bouquets with small yellow globe boutonnierres.

The photography for the wedding was phenomenal!      Love Me Do Photography

The Perfect Outdoor Wedding

Afton and Jim decided to celebrate with an outdoor ceremony at the Old Mill in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania. Outdoor weddings are becoming quite popular and give us opportunities to pull all of the details of the ceremony together with fresh flowers and gorgeous arrangements. Plus, they are so much fun! Afton was a beautiful bride and was so great to work with. Take a look at how perfect Afton and Jim's wedding turned out!

Afton carried a clutch bouquet of Sophie Soft Pink Roses, White Gerbera Daisies, Cushion Mums,
and White Dahlias. SUCH a cute couple!
Don't you love the colors Afton chose!? So feminine and fun. They looked beautiful.
The Bridesmaids carried clutch bouquets of Orange Gerbera, Watermelon Gerbera, Hot Pink Gerbera, Soft Yellow
Roses, Hot Pink Spray Roses,  and Green Hypericum. Afton's Flower Girl carried a small bouquet version of the
Bridesmaid clutch bouquet. The color of the dresses really popped with the bright and bold colors in Afton's
choice of bouquets.
Jim wore a White Rose boutonniere and his groomsmen each wore a Terra Cotta Rose with a Watermelon tint.
The Fathers and Grandfathers each wore a Light Pink Rose.
We used vibrant floor urn arrangements at the wedding ceremony and then transported them to the reception to
decorate the buffet and place card table. These arrangements consisted of Orange Gerbera, Hot Pink Stock, Soft Yellow
Roses, Green Hydrangea, Orange Hydrangea, Orange Dahlias, Orange Mums and Hot Pink Snapdragon.
This is a really pretty option for decorating the actually ceremony, and are all about being thrifty and finding more uses
for the arrangements to help you get more for your money!
Afton wanted to incorporate some of our flowers to decorate her wedding
cake. We gave her White Gerbera Daisies, White Cushion Mums,
and White Dahlia's to give to her baker, and it turned out to be very
 pretty-and delicious.
Thank you Jim and Afton! We loved your wedding. You are a beautiful couple, and were awesome to work with!

For more information on the details of our floral designs, we would love for you to contact us.
All of the pictures of Afton and Jim's wedding were taken by their photographer, Jason Prezant. You can view more of his work on this wedding and others on his website.

Maria and Brian's Spring Wedding

We love Spring weddings!  There are so many gorgeous arrangements to choose from, and Maria and Brian allowed us to work with them in designing a beautiful wedding. It was wonderful to work with them and bring Maria's dream wedding to life. Here are some shots of the finished product.

For the bride's bouquet, we combined pink Calla Lilies, white Ranunculus,
 white Dendrobium  Orchids,  pink Astilbes,

The Bridesmaids carried clutch bouquets filled with pink Lisianthis, pink Majolica Spray Roses, light pink Sweet
Peas, green Dendro Orchids, pink Astilbe,  light pink Ranunculus, and Green Buttons.
The Boutonnieres went with bouquets and other arrangements so nicely. The Groom wore a light pink Calla
Lily, and the groomsman wore pink Spray Roses and pink Astilbe.

Thanks Marie and Brian for choosing us to be a part of your special day,
 it was BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful wedding at the John James Audubon Center

We had such a great time working with the Philadelphia photographers of Ash Imagery at the Philadelphia wedding of Karen and John held at the John James Audubon Center.  The reception was beautifully decorated with centerpieces designed with hydrangea, moss, mums and orchids.

Photography by Ash Imagery

John James Audubon Center has a gorgeous stone fireplace which was decorated with moss, votives and apothecary jar,s as well as the couple's delicious tower of red velvet cupcakes with their signature monogram decorating the tops.

A beautiful wedding at the Old Mill

We had the privilege of providing flowers for a wedding held at the Old Mill and wanted to share some of our favorite photos of it shot by Alison Conklin.

The bride and groom, Amy and Pat are so sweet together, and I loved that they included their dog in the ceremony.

Who gets a wedding corsage?

Getting married comes with the notion to ask many questions.  One of the most common questions is "Who should we buy a wedding corsage for?"

The answer to that question is....anyone that is special to you.  Traditionally speaking though, it's typically the following people:

  • Mothers
  • Grandmothers
  • Guestbook Attendant
  • Gift Attendant
  • Speaker
  • Musician/Singer
  • Wedding Coordinator
  • Candle Lighter
The great thing about this being your wedding though is that you get to choose who gets a corsage and who doesn't.  If we can help, give us a shout.

Contest: Which of these 4 bouquets is your favorite?

As wedding florists we prepare exactly what each bride has in mind for her wedding bouquet....and each bride has her own style.  Weddings like that of Kim Kardashian and Princess Kate fills brides with inspiration and admiration.  They come into Fresh Design Florists to find out if we can recreate their dream bouquet...and of course the answer is yes.

Which of these four bouquets do you think should win our "Bouquet of the month" contest?
